Amilla Maldives Resort and Residences

Located in the Baa Atoll, Amilla Maldives Resort and Residences is a 30-minute seaplane transfer from the Malé International airport or alternatively a 20-minute domestic flight and a 10-minute speedboat ride from the Dharavandhoo Domestic airport.

Based in the UNESCO World biosphere reserve of the Baa Atoll, it’s one of the bigger islands in the Maldives but with only a total of 67 rooms in 6 categories built scattered throughout. The focus of the accommodation is on seclusion by being discreetly distanced from one another. All villas and residences are furnished comfortably with contemporary amenities and décor, with a touch of luxury through its private freshwater pools with overwater decks & beaches as well as al fresco dining areas.

The Reef Water Pool Villas can be booked as an overwater option with a private pool, ceramic bathtub built for two, and access to easy snorkelling from the room to the reef in just a matter of minutes. For families and guests looking for a view and a dip in the lagoon, the overwater Sunset Water Pool Villas are available with direct lagoon access, over the lagoon hammock, sunset views, and open garden showers. The Lagoon Water Pool Villa is bookable as either a 1 bedroom or a 2-bedroom option with the ocean to one side and the lagoon to the other. Alternatively for a Robinson Crusoe experience– a stay above the canopy of trees, to the sounds and smells of the tropics, the 2-bedroom Treetop Pool Villa (can also be booked as a one-bedroom unit), known as the Maldives Private Villa with Pool is ideal. Whilst for beach lovers who like to sunbathe and have their own private beach, then the Beach Pool Villas are a must.

For groups and the ultimate private experience, the resort offers Amilla Multi-bedroom Residences which are enormous living spaces of 4,6 or 8 bedrooms with private pools, and verandas and are located within the most secluded parts of the island. The residences are equipped with modern kitchens and terraces, with some of the larger homes come complete with their own spa, gym, and rooftop bar.

There is an excellent dining choice with 7 restaurants, one café, a wine cellar, and two bars. The Dine Around - All-Inclusive plan (DAI) by Amilla lets guests dine at all their restaurants at no extra charge, whilst enjoying a wide variety of beverages at the bars with discounts on premium wine and beverages. Half board, Full board, or All-inclusive basis can be booked at the resort.

With Baa Atoll offering some of the best marine experiences in the Maldives this is a great place to snorkel and dive in addition to a wide range of water sports such as – parasailing, wakeboarding, snorkelling (with a marine biologist or during the night). and diving. On land, guests can try beach volleyball, badminton, tennis, and football. Kids can have fun at the Sultan’s village kids’ club while excursions around the Baa Atoll can be done and seasonal snorkelling to sight devil rays, stingrays, eagle rays, manta rays, and whale sharks. For a bit of rest & relaxation, the Wellness Spa at Amilla has everything from holistic treatments to special wellness cuisines, spa, yoga, and programs for improving mindfulness.

The Travel Gallery Take – located on one of the most sought-after Atolls, the hotel has a great house reef and eco-experience on the island. The hotel design is less Maldivian with fresh white overwater and beach villas which may not be to everyone’s taste. We particularly like the dine-around all-inclusive package which gives access to all the restaurants and quality drinks passage. For those looking for excellent dining choices and an intimate feel, it is a good choice.
